Child Care Group Leader

Our Client, Murray Valley Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd (MVAC), is looking for a full-time Child Care Group Leader to join their team in Robinvale, VIC, offering an annual salary of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

MVAC is a not-for-profit organisation providing a diverse range of programs, including childcare, kindergarten, health, medical, wellbeing, housing and aged care for Aboriginal people in Robinvale, VIC. Established in 1974 by the local Aboriginal community, MVAC focuses on self-determination, empowerment and resilience, with its services founded on respect, integrity, community, service and cultural strength.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing learning materials and equipment for educational, creative, and recreational activities.

• Guiding children’s behaviour and supporting positive social development and interaction.

• Planning and conducting age-appropriate learning and play activities based on children’s interests and needs.

• Engaging children through storytelling, games, music, art, and other interactive activities.

• Supervising children during indoor and outdoor play to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

• Overseeing daily routines, including learning, play, meals, rest, and transitions.

• Monitoring children’s hygiene, wellbeing and appropriate self-care practices.

• Observing and documenting children’s learning, behaviour, and developmental progress.

• Guiding educators in delivering activities, routines, and appropriate standards of care.

• Communicating with families about children’s development, needs, and daily experiences.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a Certificate III in Children’s Services and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an equivalent relevant qualification.

• Should have at least one (1) year of full-time experience as a Child Care Group Leader in Australia.

Note: Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
