Cooks – Modern Australian Cuisine

Toodyay Food & Liquor Merchants Pty Ltd t/as Victoria Hotel Toodyay is looking for experienced cooks to join our team at a busy restaurant known for serving classic Australian fare and modern, seasonal dishes.

Location: Toodyay, WA 6566

Type: Full-time, permanent

Award Remuneration: AUD $79500 to $84000 per annum + superannuation

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of Australian and contemporary dishes.

• Maintain consistent quality, flavour, and presentation standards.

• Manage food preparation, stock rotation, and portion control.

• Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing supplies.

• Support kitchen staff and help train junior team members.

• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and competently.

• Contribute to menu development and daily specials.

• Support the kitchen leadership.

Skills and Requirements

• A relevant Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or another acceptable qualification.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant full-time or equivalent part-time experience in a commercial kitchen.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification will be considered.

• Solid knowledge of Australian-style modern cuisine.

• Strong knife skills and sound understanding of cooking techniques.

• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.

• Team-oriented with good communication skills.

• Reliable, well-organised, and committed to high standards.

• Understanding of stock control and waste reduction.

• Food Safety Certificate or trade qualification preferred.
