Job description:

The Maintenance Support Officer undertakes a range of duties, as directed by the Director of Nursing associated with the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment at the St Helens District Hospital.

The Team

Located on the stunning East Coast of Tasmania, St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania's busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast-paced environment that delivers high quality patient centred care. Our focus is on providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role

The Maintenance Support Officer undertakes a range of duties, as directed by the Director of Nursing associated with the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment at the St Helens District Hospital.

You will need

Competence and experience in performing general non-trade maintenance including minor modification and operation of machinery

The ability to undertake basic maintenance and repairs to the building fabric, furniture and equipment which may include minor plumbing, construction and building tasks

The ability to undertake home modifications for East Coast clients under the direction of a treating Allied Health Professional.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$65, 827 to $68, 854 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

* as required by the Aged Care Act 1997, occupants of this role are required to undertake a conviction check assessment every three years.
