Architectural Draftperson/ Wood Machinist

PNOY HOME BUILDERS PTY LTD The Role An Architectural Draftsperson prepares detailed technical drawings, plans, and 3D models from architect concepts to guide construction. Key responsibilities include creating working drawings, interpreting building regulations and codes, liaising with builders, and assisting architects with design development to ensure compliance with project specifications. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Drawings & Plans: Develop preliminary sketches, detailed working drawings, and 3D renderings for residential or commercial projects.

Compliance: Interpret and apply building codes, regulations, and standards to drawings. Collaboration: Liaise with architects, construction managers, surveyors, and contractors to ensure accurate project execution. Modifications: Edit and revise plans based on feedback or site inspections.

Costing: Assist in calculating material costs and time scales. Technical Documentation: Prepare building specifications. Interpreting Specifications: Studying blueprints, work orders, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions, quantities, and operational sequences.

Machine Setup: Selecting and adjusting tooling, knives, cutters, and machine settings (such as speed and alignment) for accurate cutting, planning, turning, shaping, and sanding. Operation & Monitoring: Operating machinery to process raw wood stock or composite materials, monitoring production runs, and making adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Finishing & Quality Control: Inspecting finished workpieces for defects against design specifications, and utilizing hand or power tools for final smoothing or adjustments.

Required Skills and Qualifications: High-level proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD and SketchUp) , 3D modelling software (e.g., Revit, Revu) and Scottsdale skills being highly regarded. Knowledgeable for all Microsoft applications. Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

High attention to detail for interpreting building regulations. Ability to provide a portfolio showing project documentation examples.
