Light Vehicle & Mechanical Trades - Rail Workshop

Our client is a leading provider of transport maintenance services across Australia. Due to ongoing contracts, we are seeking multiple skilled Mechanical Tradespeople to be based in their Newcastle based Workshop.

What's Involved?

Production environment of refurbishing rolling stock for passenger trains

Machine Operating - Lathes and Borers

Build and overhaul brake systems

Strip and reassemble wheel sets from the Rail Industry

Mount and overhaul bearings

Operating a wide range of hand and power tools

Collaborating as part of a dynamic team

What We're Looking For:

Mechanical Trade Qualification - Light Vehicle Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics

Must be able to work rotating day and afternoon shift

A great attitude and willingness to learn

Forklift and Dogging ticket highly regarded

Must be able to pass a Rail Category Medical

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Excellent references to support your application

What We Offer You:

$61 - $65 per hour - casual rate

Monday - Friday, Day and Afternoon shift

15% Afternoon shift loading

Machine Specific Training provided

Ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position

Potential for further training

Based in Newcastle
