About the role:
NSW Health provides coordinated health assessments and intervention for children and young people entering statutory OOHC who are expected to remain in care for longer than 90 days.
The program also focuses on the needs of young people expected to leave care within the next year. The OOHC Health Pathway ensures children entering out of home care are provided with a comprehensive health and developmental assessment and health management plan.
The program aims to support earlier identification of health and wellbeing issues for children and young people in OOHC, providing timely intervention when required. The overall aim is to improve the short and long-term health, development and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people in OOHC, as well as support carers and placement stability.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at individual and a community level.
Employment Type: Contract Full Time until 30 June 2028 (pending ongoing funding)
Position Classification: Psychologist / Social Worker Level 1/2 / Occupational Therapist 1/2
Remuneration: $79,419.00 - $122,465.00 per annum (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)
Hours Per Week: up to 38

What We’re Looking For
Hold relevant Australian recognised tertiary qualification with registration or professional peak body eligibility.
Current Australian working rights
Current drivers Licence
Current NSW WWCC
Ability to provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments of children and young people
Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
