Westland Bricklaying About the Role Westland Bricklaying Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will work across our construction projects, carrying out brick and block laying work to a high standard while ensuring compliance with project specifications and workplace safety requirements. Key Duties & Responsibilities Study and interpret plans, specifications and drawings to determine materials, dimensions and installation requirements.

Set out brickwork and prepare work areas in accordance with construction plans. Prepare and spread mortar to provide a suitable base and binder for bricks and blocks. Lay bricks, concrete blocks and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls, partitions and other structures.

Embed bricks and blocks in mortar, remove excess mortar and finish joints appropriately. Check and maintain vertical and horizontal alignment using levels, string lines and other measuring equipment. Measure, cut and shape bricks and blocks using appropriate hand and power tools to fit required spaces.

Complete brick sills, corners, openings and other detailed brickwork as required. Install relevant components such as flashings and lintels where required. Safely erect, use and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding where necessary.

Repair and maintain existing brickwork and related masonry structures. Work effectively with supervisors, labourers and other tradespeople to coordinate site activities. Maintain a clean and safe worksite and comply with WHS and construction safety requirements.

Skills & Requirements Certificate III in Bricklaying/Brick and Block Laying or a relevant equivalent trade qualification. Relevant practical experience as a Bricklayer. Strong knowledge of bricklaying methods, materials, mortar preparation and construction techniques.

Ability to accurately read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Competence in measuring, cutting, shaping and laying bricks and blocks. Ability to use bricklaying hand and power tools safely.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication, teamwork and time-management skills. Ability to undertake physically demanding work and work safely at heights.

Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. What We Offer This is a full-time opportunity offering $75,000 per annum plus superannuation . The successful applicant will join an established bricklaying business and work as part of an experienced construction team across ongoing projects.
