Your new role As a Scam Monitoring Officer, you will monitor, identify and investigate potentially fraudulent or scam-related activity. You will use your analytical skills and attention to detail to recognise suspicious patterns, take the appropriate preventative action and ensure all incidents are accurately recorded.
Monitoring scam calls, SMS campaigns and suspicious usage activity
Identifying and blocking scam messaging campaigns
Adding phishing URLs and phone numbers to relevant blacklists
Investigating call patterns to determine whether activity is fraudulent
Monitoring high-volume scam call activity and excessive usage alerts
Taking appropriate action to prevent potential customer usage fraud
Maintaining accurate records of scam campaigns and actions taken
Preparing and distributing daily scam activity reports
Responding to notifications and reports received from other service providers
Supporting compliance with relevant legislation, policies and industry codes
Identifying opportunities to improve existing monitoring and prevention processes
The shift pattern for this position is 5pm to 10pm, with evening and weekend availability required.
What you'll need to succeed
Strong analytical and investigative skills
High attention to detail and the ability to identify unusual patterns
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work independently and make considered decisions
A collaborative and consultative working style
The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
The ability to quickly understand relevant legislation, regulations and policies
Previous experience within fraud, scams, risk, compliance, telecommunications or a monitoring environment will be highly regarded
What you'll get in return
$36.81 per hour plus super
Applicable overtime rates of up to $55.22 per hour plus super
Consistent evening shifts from 5pm to 10pm
