Chef for Restaurant in Geelong - Sponsorship Available

ARANI Thai Restaurant is seeking a Chef for a Thai restaurant located in Geelong, Victoria 3220. The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, with an annual salary of $79,750 AUD plus 12% superannuation.

Our business is locally owned and family run, with over 15 years of experience. We strive to provide a unique dining experience featuring high-quality, traditional Thai cuisine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

? Plan daily food preparation and cooking activities based on the restaurant's menu and service requirements.

? Prepare and cook a range of traditional Thai dishes while maintaining consistent taste, quality and presentation.

? Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes throughout preparation and service.

? Manage food supplies, monitor stock levels, and order stock and ingredients as required.

? Apply appropriate cooking techniques, and provide guidance to other kitchen staff on preparation and cooking procedures.

? Maintain and enforce high standards of food safety, hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.

? Support kitchen operations during lunch and dinner service.

? Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff where required.

We welcome experience and skills in Asian-style cooking. Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery is required; a Diploma of Kitchen Management is highly regarded. At least two years of relevant industry experience in a commercial kitchen setting is essential, as well as a Certificate of Hygiene and Food Safety.

Desirable skills and knowledge for the position include:

? Wok & Pan Fry: Controlling high heat/flame and timing tosses for stir-frying and searing.

? Knife Handling: Precision cutting for garnishes, meats, and fast-paced prep work.

? Component Prep: Making authentic curry pastes, stocks, soups and sauces from scratch.

? Specialized Equipment: Operating steamers, rice cookers, and grillers.
