Lion D’Or Patisserie is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Café Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our venue. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a refined, high-service environment and takes pride in operational excellence, team leadership, and exceptional customer experience.

This is a full-time position aligned with ANZSCO 141111 – Café or Restaurant Manager.

Position Summary

The Head Café Manager is responsible for organising and controlling the overall operations of Lion D’Or Patisserie to ensure the delivery of high-quality dining and customer experiences.

We are seeking a positive and motivated individual who brings energy, professionalism, and a genuine passion for hospitality to the role. Preference will be given to candidates with Spanish language skills and/or an appreciation of South American pastry products.

Key Responsibilities

As Café Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, efficient service, and strong business performance. Key responsibilities include:

Leading, training, rostering and supervising café staff

Managing daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service

Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving customer concerns

Coordinating service periods, special events and functions (where applicable)

Managing stock, purchasing, pricing and cost control

Maintaining food safety, workplace health and safety, and regulatory compliance

Working closely with kitchen staff on café menu planning and service delivery

Monitoring financial performance, stock levels and operational records

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and venue quality

Driving continuous improvement through customer feedback and team development

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Proven experience in a café management role

Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills

Sound understanding of hospitality operations, cost control, and service delivery

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards at all times

Excellent organisational and problem-solving capabilities

Strong customer focus and attention to detail

Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and peak trading periods as required

Spanish language skills and/or an appreciation of South American pastry products and traditions will be highly regarded

Qualifications

A relevant qualification at Diploma level or higher in hospitality management or a related field, or

At least three years of relevant experience in café management at a comparable level

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $77,000 – $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
