We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Café or Restaurant Managers to join our teams in Katherine and Alice Springs, Northern Territory.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, coordinating staff, maintaining service standards, monitoring stock and financial transactions, and ensuring customers receive a consistently high-quality dining experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborating with chefs to plan and develop menus.

• Organising and coordinating special functions, events and restaurant activities.

• Managing the purchasing of food, beverages and other supplies while ensuring pricing and expenditure remain within budget.

• Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, purchases and financial transactions.

• Monitoring inventory and ensuring adequate stock is available to meet operational requirements.

• Ensuring dining facilities comply with applicable health and hygiene requirements and are maintained in a clean, functional and presentable condition.

• Communicating with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals, service and their overall dining experience.

• Responding appropriately to customer feedback, enquiries and complaints.

• Selecting, training, supervising and coordinating waiting and kitchen staff.

• Allocating staff duties and assisting with the effective organisation of restaurant operations.

• Maintaining high standards of customer service and ensuring staff follow appropriate service procedures.

• Taking and managing reservations where required.

• Greeting and assisting guests on arrival.

• Assisting with taking customer orders during busy service periods where necessary.

• Working closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient and timely service.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should possess:

• At least one year of previous relevant work experience in café, restaurant or hospitality management.

• Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.

• Good knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service standards.

• Experience with stock control, purchasing and basic financial record keeping.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.

• Good organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced hospitality environment.

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Hospitality, Business Management or a related field is preferred.
