Orchard Hand

Orchard hand casual worker 16 employees needed in the Goulburn Valley region, pruning and thinning and picking Apples, Pears and Plums. Starting November 2026 and work completion date June/August 2027. To be employed for day-to-day duties as an orchard hand, including driving a small tractor, moving fruit bins and setting up hail netting as well as other orchard hand duties under supervision. The work you do will be in all seasons, when the weather does get hot in summer 30-40 degrees and cold in winter minus 2 degrees some mornings then up to 11 degrees during the day. In summer the weather is around mid to high 30 degrees. No work done on rainy days or in excessive heat. You will need to be fit and healthy as picking is demanding work. You will need to be strong to carry a 20kg picking bag, climb up and down ladders . The successful applicant MUST be an Australian citizen able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week - some weekend work. Hours are 7am-4pm in summer and 8am-5pm in winter with half an hour break for lunch. You will be paid Horticulture Award Rate 2020 (MA000028) or with Piece rates paid by the number of bins during picking times.
