Plant Engineer

Link Powdercoating Group Pty Ltd POSITION SUMMARY The Plant Engineer will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation and continuous improvement of Link Powder Coating’s plant, machinery and powder coating processes. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role will oversee machinery installation and commissioning, mechanical equipment and plant design, maintenance activities and production improvements. The Plant Engineer will work closely with the Operations team to support effective production processes and contribute to achieving the company’s safety, quality, productivity, lead-time and operational performance objectives.

Task & responsibilities TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your role will include but is not limited to: To provide an excellent finishing service to Link’s customer base. Oversee installation and commissioning of the new machinery and equipment. Designing mechanical equipment (Jigs and fixtures), components, products for manufacture, and plant and systems for powder coating.

Ensure the production good is certified by Akzo and Dulux for finishing warranty colours standards. Develop continuous improvement programs targeted at safety, labour productivity, product, and service quality, on time delivery and prioritisation of customer orders. Work closely with the whole Operations team to ensure unison between feeding the paint line, batch and packing / dispatch work.

Provide leadership and strategic guidance to the powder coat operations to achieve agreed targets of lead-time, profit, and other key performance initiatives. Contribute as a perfect team member to deliver on Link’s strategic plans to meet and exceed expectations of stakeholders. Direct the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinating the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules (Preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance).

Establish and maintain full proof powder coating process to eliminate or minimize waste to provide increased value proposition. Qualification & experience QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum 1 years of experience in a related field.

Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools and technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong analytical and mathematical competence.
