RJ&RL Pty. Limited The Electrical Engineering Technician will provide technical support to engineers, electricians and project teams in the planning, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical and renewable energy systems. The position will involve a combination of technical, project and site-based responsibilities, with a particular focus on solar PV systems, battery storage, electrical testing, fault diagnosis, technical documentation and quality assurance.

Benefits Task & responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: Assisting electrical engineers with the planning, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical and solar photovoltaic systems. Interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, technical specifications and installation documentation. Providing technical support for residential and commercial solar PV, battery energy storage and associated electrical projects.

Assisting with electrical calculations, equipment selection, cable requirements and technical assessment of electrical installations. Supporting the installation and commissioning of solar PV modules, inverters, DC and AC electrical components and associated equipment. Assisting with the installation, configuration and commissioning of battery energy storage systems and EV charging equipment.

Conducting electrical inspections and testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity and functional testing as appropriate. Assisting with inverter configuration, system commissioning and performance verification. Identifying and analysing electrical faults and assisting engineers and electricians with troubleshooting and corrective actions.

Conducting site inspections to monitor installation quality, identify technical issues and verify compliance with project specifications. Preparing and maintaining commissioning records, equipment schedules, inspection records, technical reports and project documentation. Coordinating technical and site activities with engineers, electricians, contractors, suppliers and project managers.

Assisting with preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical and renewable energy systems. Monitoring project activities to support compliance with applicable Australian Standards, project specifications, quality requirements and workplace health and safety procedures. Assisting with project handover and ensuring relevant testing, commissioning and technical documentation is completed.

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives relating to system performance, installation quality, safety and project delivery. Qualification & experience Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants should possess: A minimum Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy Systems or a closely related discipline , or an equivalent relevant qualification.

Relevant practical experience in electrical engineering technical support, electrical systems, renewable energy, solar PV or a related environment. Sound knowledge of electrical systems, electrical fundamentals, testing and installation practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.

Experience with electrical testing, fault diagnosis and commissioning activities. Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements applicable to electrical and construction environments. Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities.

Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with engineers, electricians, contractors and project teams. Ability to maintain accurate technical and project documentation.

Highly Regarded The following experience will be highly regarded: Experience with residential and commercial solar PV projects. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) experience. Experience with EV charging infrastructure.

Experience with inverter configuration and commissioning. Exposure to electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear or protection systems. Experience in electrical fault diagnosis and system performance analysis.

Experience with testing and commissioning of electrical installations. Knowledge of applicable Australian electrical and WHS requirements. Skills and Attributes The successful applicant will demonstrate: Strong technical and analytical capability.
