Their services include cash-in-transit, static guarding, mobile patrols, alarm response, CCTV, access control systems, 24/7 control room monitoring, safety audits, welfare checks, provide personal safety equipment/devices to support vulnerable VOC, accredited as well as non-accredited training in safety.

As part of their continued growth, APS is now expanding their Safety & Wellbeing Division to provide integrated services that addresses both physical security risks and personal, family, and community safety concerns. Due to the business growth and expansion plans, USVD is now looking to recruit a Safety Support Worker in their Operations team on a permanent full-time basis.

Annual salary range: AUD $80,000 - $ 85,000 + Super (for a 38-hour work week) depending upon relevant experience.

Purpose of the role: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Support Worker to join our Safety & Wellbeing Division. This role focuses on supporting individuals and families experiencing vulnerability, distress, or safety risks, particularly in connection with workplace or community-based incidents. The position is a non-security role and is dedicated to delivering professional support services.

Main duties and responsibilities - As a Safety Support Worker, your duties includes:

• Post-Incident Support Services. Provide post-incident emotional and practical support to victims of crime, domestic violence, or trauma. Additionally, provide support to their family.

• Provide training on integrated safety and wellbeing services.

• As a part of wellbeing initiative, assist welfare workers by providing services and support to families.

• Assist reporting admin and/or case coordinator, if needed.

• Assess needs of individuals and families experiencing personal, domestic, or situational challenges.

• Provide support, guidance, and practical assistance to clients affected by safety-related incidents or personal crises.

• Assist clients in developing safety and wellbeing plans, including domestic and family violence safety planning.

• Deliver crisis intervention and short-term support to vulnerable individuals.

• Liaise with external service providers including counselling services, community organizations, and government agencies.

• Refer clients to appropriate support services and maintain follow-up where required.

• Deliver safety awareness and wellbeing programs in workplace settings.

Annual Salary Range: AUD $80,000-$85,000 + Super (for a 38-hour work week) depending upon relevant experience.

Qualification & Licences:

• Diploma in Community Services or higher qualification in a related field

• Demonstrated experience, at least 1-year or more in safety support or a similar role

• Ability to assess client needs and provide appropriate interventions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Skills:

• Experience working with vulnerable individuals or families in crisis situations

• Knowledge of community support networks and referral pathways in Australia

• Experience delivering workshops or training programs

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to multitask
