We are seeking experienced and qualified CNC MACHINISTS to join our team of hardworking professionals. In this role you will set up, operate, and program computer-numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate precision metal parts based on blueprints, CAD models, or CAM files
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) to produce high-quality products
Interpret technical drawings and engineering plans to determine specifications
Ensure CNC machinery is in good working order before set up
Work with both software and hardware, conduct tests and inspections of products, services and software systems, and repair faulty programs and machinery
Conduct all programming as required or instructed
Check finished parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers) to ensure compliance with quality standards
Operate all equipment ensuring that machinery is kept running to maximum efficiency and that all documentation is completed as required
Ensure most cost-efficient use of plate, liaising with programmers where necessary
Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation
Mark cut items clearly as per program sheet and store offcuts appropriately
Ensure drive rails are kept clean and free from damage
Notify Manager/Supervisor when consumable stock levels are at the specified re-order level
Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately
Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement
Follow safety standards at all times
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Trade Qualifications and +5 years relevant experience
Excellent level of experience in CNC Machine operation including profile cutting and drilling
Knowledge and ability to read and follow engineering drawings and diagrammed instructions
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Values precision and enforces quality standards
Multi-torch, plasma and oxy cutting experience
Able to work productively, largely unsupervised
Willing to operate new equipment
Knowledge and expertise with various steel and metals
Reliable, self-motivated with a great work ethic
A self-starter, with an ability to take direction
Operate forklift (desired but not essential)
A strong team player

Salary: Between $79,499 and $82,000 per annum + Super
