Our client, Bargara Hotel Operations Pty Ltd, is seeking an experienced Hotel Manager to oversee operations at its well-established venue on the picturesque waterfront of Bargara, Queensland. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in one of Australia's most beautiful seaside destinations, just a four-hour drive or a short 55-minute flight from Brisbane.

This full-time position offers a salary in the range of AUD 75K to AUD 85K per annum, plus superannuation. Remuneration is negotiable and will be based on the candidate's qualifications, leadership capability, and relevant hospitality management experience.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the venue's day-to-day operations, spanning guest accommodation, food and beverage, bars, gaming and functions, while maintaining consistent service standards, compliance and strong operational performance.

Scope of the role

- Direct and oversee the hotel's overall day-to-day operations across accommodation, food and beverage, bars, gaming, functions and retail liquor, ensuring efficient, compliant and profitable performance.

- Direct guest accommodation services — room reservations, reception check-in/check-out and housekeeping schedules — to maintain room readiness and consistent guest-service standards.

- Plan and supervise food and beverage operations across the venue's outlets — the Bistro, the on-site café, Sports Bar, Wine Bar and Cocktail Lounge, and the Deck — ensuring service quality, appropriate rostering and smooth coordination through peak trading.

- Coordinate the booking, set-up and delivery of functions, events and conferences, liaising with clients on catering, room configuration and staffing.

- Ensure the venue trades within its liquor licence and gaming authority, overseeing Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Service of Gambling across the bars, gaming room and Bottle Barn in line with Queensland liquor and gaming regulation.

- Oversee accounting and purchasing activities, including stock ordering, supplier management, budget monitoring, cash handling and revenue reporting across departments.

- Lead, roster and develop the venue's department teams (accommodation, food and beverage, gaming and bottle shop), including recruitment, induction, training and performance management.

- Monitor and review guest and patron satisfaction across accommodation, dining, bar and gaming services, resolving complaints and implementing service improvements.

- Supervise security arrangements, property presentation and ongoing maintenance of the building, grounds and facilities.

- Ensure compliance with work health and safety obligations across all areas of the operation for staff, guests and patrons.

- Provide guests with local area, tourism and transport information as required.

To be considered for this role, you should:

- Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and split shifts.

- Hold a relevant Diploma (or higher) qualification and/or have at least 3 years' experience in hotel or hospitality management.

- Hold a current QLD RSA certificate

- Have at least two years of hotel management experience

- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to manage guest and patron relations effectively.

- Demonstrate strong leadership, operational and financial management skills, with the ability to supervise staff and maintain high service and compliance standards across a busy multi-outlet venue.
