Prepare digital take-offs, area calculations and material schedules using MeasureSquare estimating software. Review project requirements and determine the scope of flooring works. Conduct site inspections and measurements to assess floor areas, site conditions, and installation requirements.

Calculate quantities of flooring materials, labour requirements, installation resources and project timeframes. Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for residential and commercial flooring projects. Obtain, analyze and compare quotations from suppliers, installers and subcontractors.

Prepare and deliver cost estimates, cost plans and, where applicable, tender pricing through to the tender settlement stage. Liaise with clients, builders, project managers, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams regarding project scope, specifications and pricing. Review and revise estimates in response to changes in project scope, drawings, specifications, product selections or supplier pricing.

Maintain current supplier pricing, cost information and estimating databases. Prepare cost information to assist with project planning, scheduling and resource allocation. Monitor estimated costs against actual material, labour and installation costs and identify significant variances.

Provide estimates, quantities, pricing assumptions and relevant project information to the operations team following project award. Qualification & experience Diploma-levelor higher qualification in construction, building, estimating, quantity surveying or a related discipline. At least 1 year of relevant experience in construction estimating, preferably within flooring, building or a related construction environment.

Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications. Demonstrated proficiency in MeasureSquare (or equivalent flooring take-off and estimating software) and Microsoft Excel. Experience calculating material quantities, labour requirements and project costs.

Experience obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations. Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, estimates and deadlines.
