Horticulture Workers - Apples & Pears

Calimna Orchard are looking for Horticulture Workers to join us at our orchard in Ardmona, VIC, where we produce premium quality apples and pears for the Australia domestic market. There are 50 casual positions available, looking to start in mid November 2026, for an employment period of approximately 9 months.

Key responsibilities for these positions include:

• Picking and packing of apples and pears,

• Planting, thinning and pruning of trees, and

• General labour, as required.

• Adhering to WHS guidelines as specified by our workplace and Worksafe Australia.

Required skills and personal attributes:

• Ability to follow instructions, quickly learn and apply new processes.

• Work as part of a team.

• Comfortable standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing ladders and engaging in repetitive task for long periods of time.

• Physically fit and capable of performing physically demanding work in tough environments, (i.e. working outside in the elements, heavy lifting etc)

Successful applicants will be offered employment on a casual basis and paid as a pieceworker or by the relevant hourly award rate depending on the work performed (pay rates are based on the Horticulture Award 2020 MA000028). They will be offered an average of 30 hours of work per week and must be available to work 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), and up to 7 days per week during busy periods. Usual work hours are 7am to 3.30pm, however, these may occasionally change according to the demands of the orchard, so flexibility is required. Applicants must also commit to the duration of the employment period (approximately 9 months).
