The Role

We are looking for a qualified health care professional with current authorisation to practice as a Clinical Midwife Specialist in NSW.

The Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2 (CMS2) is responsible for delivering a high-quality midwifery service within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW), aligning with current trends in maternity care. The CMS2 will provide clinical leadership and education to healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based maternity care.

The CMS2 will offer culturally safe, evidence-based antenatal and postnatal care, as well as antenatal and postnatal education and parenting advice for pregnant women and young people while in custody. They will also establish referral pathways for pregnant women and young people, along with their families and caregivers.

In addition, the CMS2 will provide parenting education, support, and referrals to community programs for young individuals in custody

As a Clinical Midwife Specialist, you will provide culturally safe antenatal and postnatal care to women and young people in custody. You will also lead and educate staff to ensure evidence-based maternity care.

Current authority to practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

At least three years of experience in Antenatal Care and post registration Midwifery Qualifications.

A current NSW Driver Licence.

Our Location

The position is based at Olympic Park; however, the Clinical Midwife Specialist will provide support to all female centers across Sydney Metropolitan Area.

The Justice Health Olympic Park office, or 'JHOP' is located at 10 Herb Elliot Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park. Easy access is provided via public transport including buses, trains, and ferries, as well as road access via the M4 and Parramatta Road via Homebush Bay Drive. 35 km of bicycle paths surround the site, and bicycle storage and shower amenities are available in the office as well.
