System Administrator

RSR Consulting ISCOT PTY LTD is seeking a qualified and motivated Systems Administrator to support its business IT operations in the Canberra region. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's computer systems, hardware, software and network infrastructure. The role will focus on system administration, troubleshooting, security, backup and recovery, technical documentation and identifying future infrastructure requirements.

Benefits Competitive salary in the range of $85,000 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation. Full-time employment based in Fyshwick, ACT. Hands-on exposure to systems, networks, security and business IT infrastructure.

Task & responsibilities Administer, maintain and support operating systems, server hardware, software and associated network infrastructure to ensure reliable business IT operations.

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve server, hardware, software, workstation and network-related issues. Establish and maintain system backup and recovery procedures and implement security and integrity controls to protect systems and business data. Manage operational processes and procedures relating to system security, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Liaise with security vendors, suppliers and service providers regarding the installation, maintenance and performance of security applications and ICT services. Monitor service provider performance and applicable service level agreements and address system-related issues where required. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, IT policies, maintenance procedures, operational instructions and system records.

Monitor the performance and integration of existing systems and networks and identify opportunities to improve system reliability, security and efficiency. Assess current and future server and network requirements and recommend appropriate infrastructure upgrades and enhancements. Support the implementation, testing and maintenance of system and network changes, upgrades and security measures.

Qualification & experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or a related discipline. Minimum one year of relevant experience managing computer systems, hardware, software and network environments. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, systems and networks.

Knowledge of system security, backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes. Experience maintaining technical and systems documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Good communication skills and a strong interest in technology.
