Heavy Diesel Mechanic

RE Group (part of AK Evans) are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Port Hedland WA.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Maintain, test and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems and Hydraulic systems on vehicles and other heavy plant machinery/equipment including (Dozer – Cat D6 Swampy,Dump Truck – Cat 740GC Articulated, Excavator – Komatsu PC200 + PC200-Long Reach & Volvo EC350D & Hitachi 20t, Grader – Cat 150M, Loader – Cat 980 + 988 & Komatsu WA500, Water Cart – Isuzu FM500 & Articulated, Isuzu HR Service Truck, Prime Movers – Kenworth C509, Trailers – Side Tippers, Light Vehicles).

- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles, and other heavy plant machinery/equipment

- Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts on vehicles and other heavy plant machinery/equipment

- Undertake inspections, assessments and maintenance on Vehicles, and other heavy plant machinery/equipment

Skills & Abilities:

- Ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic

- A Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology /Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or relevant

- Ability to work in a team environment
