Wood Machinist

Eaton Building Materials is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Wood Machinist to join their team in Mannering Park NSW.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

- Analysing drawings, work orders, and sample parts to establish specifications. Assessing tooling and machine necessities and determining the sequence of operations.

- Arranging woodworking machines and wood stock for accurate cutting, planning, turning, shaping, and sanding.

- Eliminating previous finishes by utilizing steel wool and glasspaper for stripping, as well as applying solvents and paint strippers. Scraping off softened finishes.

- Assembling and securing frame pieces, and mounting backing materials and subjects for framing.

- Utilizing machines to cut, plane, turn, shape, and sand workpieces. Applying varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains, and paint to surfaces. Polishing and waxing finished surfaces.

Skills and Abilities:

- Ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified Wood Machinist or equivalent

- A Certificate in Wood Machining or relevant

- Ability to work in a team environment

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience.
