About this job

We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and proactive Strategic Projects Lead for a 9 month engagement . This role will drive the coordination, planning, and delivery of national public events, strategic programs, and stakeholder initiatives focused on promoting social cohesion, building community trust, and supporting strategic policy priorities .

Operating under broad direction, you will connect government bodies, community groups, academia, and private sector stakeholders to execute end-to-end projects and high-profile events .

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, action logs, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent initiatives

Plan and execute national, state, and local forums, workshops, roundtables, and public events (including venue, logistics, catering, media coordination, and post-event reporting)

Establish and nurture trusted relationships across Commonwealth and State/Territory agencies, community organisations, academic institutions, and private industry

Prepare high-quality executive correspondence, briefing notes, reports, and evidence-based strategic advice on complex, sensitive topics

Identify and mitigate operational and project risks, maintaining escalation protocols and accurate program records

Mandatory Requirements:

Australian citizenship and ability to hold/maintain a Baseline Security Clearance .

Proven track record in project management and delivering public stakeholder events in complex or government settings

Demonstrated experience producing executive-level briefs, reports, and policy advice

Exceptional capability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, community representatives, and government officials

Full-time commitment based in Sydney (with office anchor days), open to interstate travel and occasional out-of-hours work for events

Desirable Criteria:

Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Communications, Business, Public Policy, or related disciplines

Experience in social policy, multicultural affairs, human rights, or community relations

High cultural competency, empathy, and experience engaging with diverse communities (familiarity with social cohesion initiatives or multicultural community engagement is highly regarded)

Multilingual communication skills

Key Selection Criteria (For Applicant Responses)

Experience managing and evaluating multi-faceted projects/programs within tight timeframes

Demonstrated history of end-to-end planning and delivery of public-facing events or stakeholder roundtables

Proven ability to build and sustain relationships across complex environments

Experience in risk assessment, issue escalation, and project governance

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including high-level executive reporting .

Sensitivity, professionalism, and skill when engaging with diverse communities and handling sensitive matters
