We specialise in landscaping, outdoor transformations and the construction and enhancement of residential and commercial outdoor spaces. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Landscape Gardener to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role The successful applicant will undertake a broad range of landscape construction, garden establishment and outdoor improvement works across projects throughout Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. This is a hands-on role requiring practical landscaping experience, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Task & responsibilities Interpret landscape plans, drawings and project specifications and assist with planning landscape construction works. Select appropriate landscaping materials, plants and other outdoor products for individual projects. Set out and construct hardscape and softscape landscape features.

Construct and install paved and gravel areas, retaining walls, garden edging, fences, trellises, pergolas and other outdoor structures. Prepare garden beds, seedbeds and growing areas by cultivating and improving soil. Plant and establish trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, groundcovers and other vegetation.

Prepare lawn areas by levelling sites, spreading topsoil, sowing grass and laying instant turf. Undertake soil preparation, mulching, fertilising and other garden establishment activities. Install garden drainage and basic landscape irrigation systems.

Determine irrigation requirements and assist with the installation of irrigation pipes, pumps, meters, sprinklers and associated components. Test, maintain and repair irrigation systems where required. Carry out landscape maintenance and establishment works to ensure newly completed projects develop appropriately.

Operate landscaping tools, machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. Measure materials and work areas and assist with estimating quantities required for individual projects. Maintain safe, clean and organised worksites.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, workplace health and safety requirements and company quality standards. Liaise with supervisors, tradespeople and other team members to coordinate landscaping and outdoor construction activities. Qualification & experience AQF Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Horticulture or a closely related qualification, or an AQF Certificate IV or equivalent relevant qualification; At least One year of relevant industry experience Relevant practical experience in landscape gardening, landscape construction or similar work; experience with both hard landscaping and soft landscaping; knowledge of plants, soil preparation, turf installation and landscape establishment techniques; practical experience with paving, retaining structures, garden construction and irrigation systems; ability to read basic landscape plans, measurements and specifications; ability to safely operate landscaping tools and equipment; good communication, organisational and teamwork skills; and ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
