Position: Retail Manager

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

Mode: Full Time

Location: 143-149 Warialda Road, Inverell NSW 2360

Experience required: Minimum of 1 year experience in retail management

Ampol Inverell Roadhouse is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy 24-hour service station and convenience retail business in Inverell, NSW. The site provides fuel and convenience services and also includes facilities such as truck parking, showers, public toilets and a restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the service station, convenience store and associated retail services, ensuring high standards of customer service and store presentation.

• Monitor fuel and convenience product ranges, stock levels and ordering requirements to ensure products are available to meet customer demand.

• Develop and implement effective purchasing, pricing and promotional strategies to support sales and profitability.

• Promote fuel, convenience products and other services offered by the business and provide customers with knowledgeable and professional assistance.

• Maintain accurate records of stock movements, sales, cash transactions and other financial information.

• Monitor store budgets, sales performance and operating expenses to support the financial objectives of the business.

• Recruit, train, supervise and roster staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service across the 24-hour operation.

• Manage customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved professionally and promptly.

• Ensure fuel, convenience store and food-service operations comply with workplace health and safety, food safety and company requirements.

• Coordinate day-to-day operations to maintain reliable service for local customers, travellers and heavy-vehicle operators using the roadhouse.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Retail Management, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management (preferred but not required)

• Minimum of 1 year experience in retail management, preferably within a service station, convenience store, roadhouse or similar high-volume retail environment.

Skills & Requirements:

• Strong understanding of stock control, purchasing, sales and retail operations.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and manage staff.

• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

• Good financial, organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24-hour retail environment.

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and well-presented store.
