SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Cyble Pty Ltd. The Software Engineer will be responsible for researching, analysing, designing, developing, testing, integrating, implementing and maintaining software applications and platform components that support Cyble’s AI-native cybersecurity and cyber threat intelligence products. The role will translate business, product and technical requirements into reliable software solutions, develop and maintain program code, conduct testing and debugging, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to the performance, scalability, reliability and secure operation of Cyble’s software platforms and integrations.

Task & responsibilities Duties: Research, consult, analyse and evaluate software system requirements in consultation with product, engineering and other relevant stakeholders. Identify software limitations, technical requirements, system dependencies and integration requirements, and recommend appropriate software solutions.

Design software architecture, application components, modules, interfaces and data flows for scalable cybersecurity and threat intelligence platforms. Develop, modify and maintain program code in accordance with approved software specifications, engineering standards and product requirements. Build and maintain backend services, APIs, application services and software integrations that enable Cyble platforms to exchange and process information with internal and external systems.

Develop software components that support the collection, processing, correlation and presentation of cyber threat intelligence and security-related data within Cyble’s software products. Apply software engineering principles to improve the scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability and availability of applications and platform services. Conduct unit, integration, system and regression testing to verify that software performs in accordance with functional and technical specifications.

Identify, diagnose and correct software defects, coding errors, performance issues and application failures through systematic debugging and testing. Review existing software code and systems and implement enhancements, upgrades and modifications to improve functionality and technical performance. Participate in code reviews and technical design reviews to maintain software quality, consistency, maintainability and adherence to engineering standards.

Implement secure software development practices, including appropriate validation, authentication, authorisation, error handling and protection of sensitive data within applications. Integrate software applications with relevant enterprise and security technologies through APIs, connectors and other approved integration mechanisms. Develop and maintain automated processes, deployment configurations and supporting software components required for reliable application delivery and operation.

Prepare and maintain software design specifications, technical documentation, system documentation, test documentation and implementation records. Monitor the operation and performance of deployed software, investigate application issues and implement corrective or preventative software changes. Work with product managers, software engineers, quality assurance personnel and other technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver new features and platform improvements.

Provide technical guidance on software design, implementation, testing and maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement of software engineering practices. Qualification & experience Relevant AQF Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Minimum three (3) years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, software development or relevant field.
