Way 2 Bee Asia Exports Pty Ltd is a successful honey producer and we are looking for helping hands to join our upcoming seasonal team.

Location: Campvale, 2318. Positions available: 3

Duties of the position:

A Field Hand, is an essential part of our team, supporting our beekeepers across the apiaries, beehive sites, and the honey factory. This is a practical, hands-on role where you will learn the fundamentals of apiary management, beekeeping and honey production while ensuring our operations run smoothly and safely. You will get to see the great country environment of NSW as you visit apiaries and collect honey.

Key Responsibilities

Hive Operations: Assist with lifting honey boxes, handling frames, and assisting the preparation of beehives for harvest. Assist to feed and water the bees. Harvest honey.

Learn simple tasks: Support beekeepers in simple tasks in the field and factory.

Site Maintenance: Keep beehive sites clean, safe, and orderly. This includes using grass-cutting equipment and a lawnmower safely and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.

Attention to Safety: Learn to work safely in Australia and follow workplace laws.

Factory Support: Assist with supervised factory tasks as required, prepare and load equipment & process honey harvests and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Teamwork: Follow verbal and written instructions properly.

Requirements

Physically fit: You must be capable of regular lifting of honey boxes and working outdoors a range of weather and local conditions.

Willingness to Learn: A genuine interest in learning how beekeeping works in Australia.

Communication: Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with the Team.

Bee Tolerance: Not allergic to bees. This role means regular exposure to honey bees.

Commencement and Duration: We are seeking applicants for the ongoing season and next year.

Pay & Conditions

This position is paid in accordance with the Pastoral Award.

Job Classification: Pastoral and Livestock Hand - Level 1 (Adult - Full Time) $25.74 per ordinary hours

Superannuation is paid at 12%. A full time worker will be assigned to work at least 38 hours of work per week. Additional work and over-time is available during busy periods.

This is a full time ongoing position and you will get holiday pay and sick leave entitlements according to the award.
