JRT Group is seeking qualified Mechanical Technicians to join their team. This role is responsible for the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of light and/or heavy motor vehicles, requiring trade-level technical expertise and independent diagnostic capability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Diagnose, assess, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic vehicle issues using computerised diagnostic equipment
Dismantle, repair, and replace worn or defective mechanical parts, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and steering systems, referencing service manuals and technical documentation as needed
Interpret manufacturer service manuals and specifications
Inspect vehicles and prepare service reports
Diagnose and resolve mechanical malfunctions, ensuring timely and effective repairs
Replace defective mechanical components and test vehicle performance
Conduct post-repair testing and adjustments to verify proper performance and compliance with safety standards
Accurately complete and maintain service records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standards
Keep the workshop clean and organised while strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations
Support apprentices and junior mechanics
Required Experience and Qualifications
Trade qualified equivalent to Certificate III in Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology
Minimum 2 years post-trade experience in the same field with ample knowledge in modern diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics
Strong mechanical knowledge on a wide variety of vehicle and equipment
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
Able to meet productivity targets
Strong communication skills
Strong diagnostic abilities
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
Must have great work ethics
Valid Australian driver licence (or eligibility)
White Card (Construction Induction)
