Motor Mechanic

BM Tekniker is seeking a qualified and motivated Motor Mechanic (General) to join our growing team in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria. We are looking for a dedicated professional with strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills to service and repair a variety of motor vehicles.

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation

Essential Requirements:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.

• Relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Detect and diagnose faults in engines and mechanical components.

• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other vehicle components for inspection and repair.

• Inspect, test, and assess parts to determine repair or replacement requirements.

• Repair and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals.

• Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and other preventative maintenance procedures.

• Reassemble engines and vehicle components following repairs.

• Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts and systems to ensure proper operation and performance.

• Use computerised diagnostic equipment to identify faults and test vehicle systems.

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with relevant safety and environmental standards.

• Conduct vehicle inspections and provide detailed reports outlining work required to achieve roadworthiness.
