Shop n Save Food Bazaar is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Supervisor to join our team in Alice Springs, NT.

We are looking for a reliable retail professional with strong customer service, staff supervision, stock control and organisational skills to assist with the effective day-to-day operation of our retail establishment.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising and coordinating retail staff, maintaining high standards of customer service, managing stock and merchandise displays, assisting with staff training and ensuring workplace safety and security procedures are followed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring customers receive efficient and timely service and are provided with quality goods and services.

• Responding professionally to customer enquiries, concerns and complaints regarding products and services.

• Planning and preparing staff work schedules and allocating employees to appropriate duties.

• Assisting with the interviewing, recruitment, training, performance evaluation, promotion and management of retail staff.

• Addressing staff concerns and assisting with the resolution of workplace grievances.

• Providing guidance and instruction to employees on handling complex or difficult sales transactions and customer situations.

• Inspecting returned merchandise and determining the appropriate action in accordance with store procedures.

• Conducting stocktakes, monitoring inventory levels and arranging orders for new or replacement stock.

• Ensuring products and services are accurately priced and appropriately displayed throughout the store.

• Monitoring merchandise presentation and ensuring shelves and displays remain organised and adequately stocked.

• Supervising retail staff and monitoring their performance during daily operations.

• Supporting staff in delivering consistent and professional customer service.

• Ensuring workplace safety, security and loss-prevention procedures are correctly followed and enforced.

• Assisting management with the smooth and efficient operation of the retail establishment.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

• Relevant 1 year previous experience in a retail supervisory, senior retail or similar customer service role.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Experience supervising and coordinating retail employees.

• Experience with stock control, inventory management and stock ordering.

• Ability to prepare work schedules and allocate duties effectively.

• Ability to train and provide guidance to retail staff.

• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to appropriately manage customer complaints and difficult situations.

• Good organisational and time-management skills.

• Understanding of product pricing, merchandising and store presentation.

• Knowledge of workplace safety and security procedures.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications and Experience

A relevant qualification in Retail Services, Retail Management or a related field will be highly regarded.
