We are a proudly Australian-owned meat processing facility based in Dandenong South, currently seeking a Skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, proactive individual to be part of a supportive team working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role

As a Skilled Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks across our processing plant. This includes machine fault-finding, preventative maintenance, equipment optimisation, and general troubleshooting to ensure production targets are met with minimal downtime.

You will play a key role in supporting our proactive maintenance program, contributing to continuous improvement in both equipment performance and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across plant machinery and equipment

- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment

- Work with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and undertake welding repairs as needed

- Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise disruption to operations

- Maintain clean and hygienic work areas in accordance with site standards

- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with WHS policies

- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented maintenance culture

Skills and Experience

- Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter

- Proven mechanical experience in a meat or food-processing environment

- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment (preferred)

- Sound knowledge of conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding

- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

- Flexible with shift work and availability to work overtime when required

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
