The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, measuring and cutting tiles, installing wall and floor tiles, and ensuring high-quality finishes across various projects. The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of tiling techniques, and the ability to complete work safely and efficiently while meeting client expectations. Previous experience in a similar role, strong workmanship, and a commitment to quality are essential.

Prepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling cracks and holes, and ensuring surfaces are clean and level.

Apply appropriate adhesives to prepared surfaces and tiles, and securely position tiles according to specifications. Measure, cut and shape tiles using specialised cutting tools to fit edges, corners, fittings and pipes. Ensure tiles are properly aligned, levelled and evenly spaced.

Apply grout between tiles and clean away excess grout to achieve a neat finish. Apply waterproofing systems where required to protect tiled surfaces. Lay flooring materials such as granolithic, terrazzo, cement and other similar compositions.

Install coloured tiles in decorative patterns to create mosaics where required. Qualification & experience AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or equivalent work experience in related field. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in wall and floor tiling or a similar construction trade role.

Sound knowledge of tile installation methods, surface preparation, waterproofing, and finishing techniques. Ability to read plans, measure surfaces, and complete tiling work with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
