Position for a Motor Mechanic – Full time

Description of the Position to be filled:

Undertake motor vehicle services, carry out repairs of engines, the transmission, the

suspension systems as well as undertake electronic diagnostics at an efficient and

professional manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform Tyre changing, wheel alignment and wheel balance

- Discuss problems with car owners to discover faults, listen to engines and operate special

test equipment and test drive vehicles to ascertain faults.

- Determine cause & effect of identified problems and determine best course of action

- Repair and replace worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines,

transmission, differentials or steering gear etc.

- Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies

- Use of proper tools to make sure they are working properly and put them back into the

vehicle.

- Perform preventive maintenance such as checking fluid levels, brake systems, steering,

generating ignition, and electrical wiring systems.

- Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments.

- Diagnose, repair and replace engine management/fuel injection components.

- Use of electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in lighting, instrumentation,

electronic fuel injection, ignition and emissions control systems.

- Perform administrative tasks such as completion of vehicle details on Job Sheet and ensue all

purchase invoices are properly attached with the Job Sheets

- Maintain proper and safe keeping of all tools and equipment and ensure hazardous substances are

disposed appropriately.

- Follow occupational health and safety practices

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

- Certificate IV in Motor Mechanism from a recognized institute in Australia, an AQF Certificate 111 or an equivalent recognized

qualification

- Valid driving license

- Communication skills

- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the same industry

- Ability to carry out tasks with “can-do” attitude and positivity is highly desirable

Remuneration and Facilities:

- Annual Gross Salary package of range from AUD 80,000 to AUD 85,000 plus Super awaits the right

candidate. Working Hours -Mon-Fri- 8.30 am to 5 pm and Sat-8.30 am- 2 pm
