About the Role

Ventia is seeking experienced Cable Jointers to support the delivery of electrical distribution network projects and maintenance activities under the Western Power contract in Western Australia.

The role involves undertaking cable jointing and related electrical infrastructure works across metropolitan and regional locations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform low-voltage (LV) cable and pillar terminations.

· Perform high-voltage (HV) switchgear connections.

· Install and connect pad-mounted transformers.

· Undertake streetlight and pit terminations.

· Carry out HV and LV cable jointing activities.

· Support distribution network enhancement projects, including feeder reinforcements and transformer upgrades.

· Participate in network maintenance and infrastructure improvement works across metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality and compliance requirements.

· Maintain required technical and operational records.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

· Certificate III in ESI Power Systems - Distribution Underground (UET30821) or an equivalent qualification.

· Demonstrated experience in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) cable jointing within a distribution or utility network environment.

· Current and valid driver's licence.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures and work instructions.

· Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

· Ability to work across metropolitan and regional locations as required.

· Previous cable jointing experience.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

· Paper Lead Cable Jointing qualifications.

· Experience working on electrical distribution networks.

· Additional electrical authorisations or network accreditations relevant to cable jointing activities.

Conditions

· Full-time permanent position.

· Overtime and weekend work may be available.

· Regional travel may be required.

· Applicable site, travel and living-away allowances apply in accordance with project requirements and employment conditions.
