Position Overview:

As a Civil Engineering Draftsperson at SPR Steelfixers Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and coordinating detailed civil and reinforcement drafting documentation for construction and steel fixing projects. This position requires strong technical accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to translate engineering information into practical, buildable drawings and schedules.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Prepare detailed civil engineering and reinforcement drawings, plans, sketches, sections and layouts to support steel fixing and reinforced concrete construction projects.

• Convert engineering designs, structural drawings and project specifications into accurate shop drawings and fabrication documentation for reinforcement installation.

• Prepare reinforcement detailing, including bar marks, spacing, laps, bends, concrete cover, dimensions and construction notes in line with project requirements.

• Interpret civil, structural and architectural drawings, work instructions and specifications to determine reinforcement layouts, quantities and drafting requirements.

• Collect and analyse project information, site measurements, mark-ups and engineering data to update drawings and support accurate construction documentation.

• Assist with material take-offs, reinforcement schedules, bar lists and cutting and bending schedules to support procurement, fabrication and project cost control.

• Review drawing revisions and incorporate design changes into reinforcement drawings, schedules and technical documents while maintaining version control.

• Check drawings for accuracy, constructability and compliance, and coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, fabricators, contractors and clients to resolve drafting or reinforcement clashes.

Qualifications and Skills:

? Relevant qualification.

? Minimum 3 years experience as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson

? Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software for civil and reinforcement drawings.

? Ability to interpret civil, structural and architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

? Strong understanding of civil construction, steel reinforcement detailing and buildability requirements.

? High attention to detail, time management and communication skills for coordinating with project teams.

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 – $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
