Public Area Cleaning Supervisor

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and hands-on Public Area Cleaning Supervisor to lead a large team of Public Area Cleaners across the island. In this role, you will ensure all public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation, delivering exceptional guest experiences in line with our quality standards.

Role Overview

• Employment Status: Fulltime

• Pay range: $29.88 per hour

• Award: Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020

The position will commence on 7 October 2026 and will be available for 1 year.

Your Role

As Public Area Cleaning Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of public area cleaning, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved. You will support team development, coordinate rosters, and work closely with Maintenance and operational teams to maintain a safe and well-presented environment.

Where you’ll make an impact

• Supervise Public Area Cleaners to maintain safe and clean guest areas

• Ensure productivity and quality standards are consistently achieved

• Support training, onboarding, and performance development of team members

• Report maintenance and safety hazards promptly to minimise risk

• Assist with recruitment, appraisals, and staff development

• Implement ongoing cleaning programs across all public areas

• Oversee maintenance and safe use of equipment and vehicles

• Support roster planning, including deep cleans and project work

• Promote WHS compliance and a positive team culture

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and products?

Working Hours:

Wednesday: 4:00AM – 12:00PM

Thursday: 4:00AM – 12:00PM

Friday: 4:00AM – 12:00PM

Saturday: 4:00AM – 12:00PM

Sunday: 4:00AM – 12:00PM
