We are currently seeking Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics to join our teams in Newman, Karratha, and Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will diagnose, repair, maintain and test motor vehicle and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components. Service and repair a wide range of light vehicles, trailers, buses, cranes, and large trucks you will also be required maintain a safe working environment.
Tasks Include:
Detecting and diagnosing faults in vehicle parts and engines
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, steering mechanisms transmissions, and other components, and checking integrity of parts
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, with the ability to interpret service manuals as required
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine servicing to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with emission regulations
Reassembling engines and parts after repair
Testing and modifying mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of diagnostics
Inspecting vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve safety standards
To be successful the following is required:
Sound understanding of safe working and housekeeping practices
Trade qualified or equivalent
Strong English level required
Previous experience in a similar role for at least 5 years
Excellent communication skills
High attention to detail and able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Be reliable, punctual & hardworking
Strong commitment to Health and Safety
Current Driver's Licence HC /MC preferred
Ability to work in a team environment and positive work ethic
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months)
