Job description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repair and maintenance solutions
Conduct preventative maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime
Support engineers and supervisors in improving equipment performance and reliability
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems and equipment
Interpret and apply technical specifications, engineering drawings, and operational manuals
Monitor equipment performance and report on mechanical issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
Ensure all work complies with Australian standards, company procedures, and WHS legislation
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
Provide on-site technical support, including troubleshooting under operational conditions
Assist in training and mentoring junior staff or offsiders where required
Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding parts, servicing, and technical support
WORK HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and company policies
Participate in toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and safety audits
Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses
Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained safely

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Relevant qualification at Certificate Diploma, or Advanced Diploma of first-degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
At least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering support roles
Essential Requirements:
Strong mechanical diagnostics and fault-finding capability
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatics
Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements in industrial or construction environments
Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites
