About the Role
We are seeking 60 reliable and motivated Fruit Farm Workers to join a commercial fruit-growing operation in the Shepparton region of Victoria.
The positions are expected to commence in October 2026 and continue for approximately 9 months.
Successful applicants will be offered a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with additional hours potentially available depending on harvest, seasonal and operational requirements.
Example Working Hours
An example of a 30-hour working week may be:
Monday to Friday – 6:00am to 12:00pm
6 hours per day × 5 days = 30 hours per week
This is an example only. Actual rostered days, start and finish times may vary depending on harvest requirements, weather conditions and operational needs.
Workers may be required to work additional hours, weekends and overtime during busy harvest and production periods.
Overtime and applicable penalty rates will be paid in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028).
Applicants must be willing and available to work reasonable additional hours when required.
Key Duties
Duties may include:
Picking and harvesting fruit
Pruning and general crop maintenance
Orchard and plant maintenance
Sorting, grading and packing produce
Preparing produce for storage or dispatch
General farm and property maintenance
Cleaning work areas and equipment
Manual handling, including lifting and carrying
Following workplace health and safety procedures
Other reasonable horticultural duties as required
Working Environment
This is a physically active, hands-on position.
Applicants must be willing and able to:
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including hot, cold and wet conditions
Undertake repetitive manual tasks for extended periods
Stand, bend, reach, lift and carry as required
Work safely in an agricultural and horticultural environment
Commence work early in the morning when rostered
Work additional hours and overtime when reasonably required
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and directions
Appropriate workplace health and safety procedures will apply at all times.
About You
Successful applicants will:
Be reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
Be physically capable of undertaking manual horticultural work
Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Be able to follow instructions and workplace safety procedures
Work effectively as part of a team
Be available for a minimum of 30 hours per week
Have flexibility to work additional hours and overtime when required
Be available for the expected duration of the approximately 9-month assignment
Be able to reliably attend rostered shifts
Previous experience in horticulture, farming, fruit picking, harvesting or packing is desirable but not essential. Workplace training will be provided.
Pay and Employment Conditions
The position is covered by the Horticulture Award 2020 (MA000028).
The starting rate for an adult Level 1 casual employee is $32.18 per hour, inclusive of the applicable 25% casual loading.
Applicable overtime, penalty rates and allowances will be paid in accordance with the Award.
Employees will also receive superannuation in accordance with legislative requirements.
Classification and rates of pay will be reviewed and adjusted where required under the applicable Award.
