Cardiologists to provide Virtual Cardiac Care for Northern Territory: A Unique Opportunity
NT Cardiac is a private cardiac specialist practice which has been providing diagnostic and consultative services to both public and private patients over 25 years. We have a well-established local infrastructure, diagnostic capability and IT infrastructure to enable Virtual cardiac care. Given the increasing demand, we have successfully piloted remotely supported clinic and diagnostic reporting by cardiologists based in other states of Australia. Based on this success, we are looking to expand this model of care to support patients from all over the Northern Territory including Aboriginal patients from remote communities.
NT Cardiac is seeking of Expression of Interest from Cardiologists interested in providing Virtual Cardiac Care to both private and public patients across the Northern Territory. This role allows cardiologists to work remotely from their current base locations, leveraging on digital health platforms to deliver high-quality, patient-centred cardiac care across the NT.
This model of care is ideal for cardiologists who are committed to improving access to specialist services in regional and remote Australia with a keen interest in Aboriginal heart health, and who are comfortable using virtual systems to deliver clinical care.
About the Role
Patient-focused cardiac services, including imaging and diagnostic solutions.
Access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
Supportive team including dedicated admin staff for local support and coordination, nurses, experienced diagnostic technicians, cardiac sonographers.
NT resident cardiologists will provide support and assistance for patients needing urgent face to face consultations or investigations.
Supported with secure access to the following digital platforms:
Coviuu or TEAMS for Telehealth Consultation
Aura Portal & VIP.Net- NT Cardiac’s Patient Management System for scheduling, referrals, and reporting.
HeartLab – for reviewing and reporting on echocardiograms.
Epiphany – for access and interpretation of ECGs, Holters, BPM results.
Synapse access to Radiology images
Flexible or sessional arrangements working arrangements, including after hours.
Competitive remuneration (negotiable)
Key Responsibilities
Provide virtual consultation and diagnostic interpretation for referred patients.
Refer, review and report on echocardiograms, ECGs, Holters and other investigations as required.
Liaise with referring clinicians and NT Cardiac team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation via the Aura Portal / Practice Management System.
Requirements
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology or equivalent.
Current specialist registration with AHPRA.
