Banana Picking/Packing

We require up to 200 hardworking, physically fit workers, for contract picking work in the Tully region, Far North Queensland. Your own transport is essential as the properties out of town and there is no public transport. The work will be for approx. 6-9 months commencing in November 2026. Work carried out will be paid under the Modern Horticultural Award 2020 on a casual hourly basis. The work is intensively manual and physical, includes constant heavy lifting, bending and use of farm machinery. You'll be required to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions but most of the time it will be in hot and humid conditions. Starting times are around 6am, with long hours and occasional 6-day shifts. A 5-day minimum availability is required. The work entails cutting, boxing, slashing, hauling 50kg + bunches of bananas, and general farm cleaning and maintenance. You will be required to work quickly and carefully and at a high standard. You may be asked to work on weekends and public holidays in line with the needs of the farmer. Ability to adhere to company QA and OH&S requirements is a must. Work is offered through an agency.
