Salary: $77,824 - $106,187 p.a. - RN1

Salary: $90,913 - $114,917 p.a. plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits - RN2C

About the Role:

Older adults in Adelaide's northern suburbs deserve mental health care that sees the whole person - not just a diagnosis. As a Registered Nurse with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network's Older Persons Mental Health Service, you'll deliver that care in the community settings where it matters most.

What You'll Be Doing

Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and care planning for older adults living in the community across the northern Adelaide metro area

Delivering evidence-informed clinical interventions, including individual therapeutic support and case coordination across multidisciplinary teams

Collaborating with GPs, aged care providers, families, and carers to support integrated, person-centred outcomes

Contributing to clinical review processes and supporting less experienced staff within the NALHN Older Persons Mental Health Service model of care

What You Bring

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health nursing, with knowledge relevant to older adult presentations including dementia, delirium, and late-life mood disorders

Strong assessment and risk management skills within a community or outpatient context

The ability to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed multidisciplinary team

A current, unrestricted South Australian driver's licence

Alignment with SA Health's commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed care across diverse communities

To be eligible for this position, you must be

Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,

Enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide's north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.

Lyell McEwin Hospital - the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital - a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

Mental Health Services - adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.

Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services - provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.

Primary Health Care Services - including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
