Clarence Valley Anglican School is seeking an experienced PDHPE teacher and sporting leader to join its Secondary team from Term 1, 2027.

This is a varied leadership position combining three key areas:

Leadership of the Years 7-12 sporting program

Curriculum and faculty leadership across PDHPE

A 0.5 FTE with teaching areas in CAFS. and HMS

The teaching component is central to this appointment. You must have demonstrated Australian teaching experience in the following Stage 6 subjects:

Health and Movement Science

Community and Family Studies

You will bring a strong understanding of Stage 6 and HSC requirements, assessment and standards, along with the ability to engage senior students and support strong learning outcomes.

The leadership opportunity

As Head of Sport, you will lead a high-quality and inclusive Years 7-12 sporting program that encourages participation, teamwork, school pride and sporting excellence.

You will oversee sporting competitions, carnivals and representative pathways, coordinate staff and external providers, and ensure events are well planned, safe and engaging.

As Leader of Learning - PDHPE, you will provide day-to-day leadership of the faculty. This includes guiding curriculum planning, assessment and teaching practice, supporting colleagues and ensuring programs meet NESA and School requirements.

You will be supported by the Deputy Principal while having genuine scope to shape the future of PDHPE and secondary sport at the School.

What will you bring?

Appropriate qualifications and current NESA accreditation to teach PDHPE

Demonstrated Australian teaching experience in Health and Movement Science and Community and Family Studies

Substantial experience teaching senior PDHPE, including Stage 6 and HSC classes

Experience leading within an educational, faculty or sporting environment

Strong knowledge of contemporary school sport

The ability to coordinate carnivals, competitions and representative pathways

A collaborative, proactive and student-focused leadership style
