We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team and support the operation, inspection, maintenance and improvement of mechanical plant and equipment within our production environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will work with engineers, maintenance staff and production teams to ensure mechanical equipment, plant systems and production machinery operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with specifications, regulations and workplace requirements.
Key Duties
· Assist engineers and managers with the design, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment, plant and production systems.
· Select tools, equipment, parts and materials required for mechanical installation, maintenance and repair works.
· Assemble, install, modify and test mechanical components, machine tools, plant equipment, controls and hydraulic systems.
· Estimate material quantities, equipment requirements and machine requirements for mechanical works.
· Conduct field testing, inspections and fault-finding to identify mechanical defects, performance issues or maintenance requirements.
· Collect and analyse equipment performance data and prepare maintenance reports, diagrams and technical records.
· Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance activities for machinery, plant and production equipment.
· Ensure completed mechanical works meet specifications, safety regulations, quality standards and operational requirements.
· Work with maintenance and production teams to reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability and support continuous improvement.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
· Relevant qualification or experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical technology, industrial maintenance or a related field.
· Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or similar technical role.
· Experience with mechanical plant, machinery, production equipment, hydraulic systems or machine controls.
· Ability to interpret mechanical specifications, diagrams and technical instructions.
· Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills.
· Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Remuneration
This is subject to your skills, qualifications and experience, but will be within a salary range of $80,000 – $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.
