Purpose of Position
The Cafe Manager is responsible for the operations of the cafe, customer satisfaction, quality control, rostering and also supports, trains and empowers staff through transformative leadership. This role ensures all key decisions relating to the cafe are purpose-aligned, high quality and foster social connection through hospitality. It also plays a vital role ensuring an inclusive and supportive workplace for all staff, clear channels of communication between staff, management and all stakeholders.

Salary: Starting at $78,000 + 12% Superannuation

Responsibilities
Mentoring, training and onboarding staff, most of whom face multiple barriers and are new to the workforce,
Daily operations
Quality customer service and product delivery
Managing providers and supplier relations
Rostering
Asset reporting and maintenance - ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and facilities
Referring staff to external services as necessary
Hosting community events to increase engagement inside and outside of cafe operating hours
Analysing sales
Meeting KPI’s
Managing complaints and conflict resolution
Required skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, providing feedback and encouraging staff development
Dedication to ensuring a safe, inclusive and compliant workplace environment.
5 years minimum hospitality experience
1 year minimum Hospitality Management experience
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Certificate III in Hospitality, or equivalent or relevant industry qualification
Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card, or willingness to obtain
Police check, willingness to obtain
High level of English: writing and oral communication skills
Desirable qualities and experience
Attention to detail
Experience in supporting and empowering individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, ideally within a social enterprise or non-profit setting
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their practical application
Strong understanding of management programs: Lightspeed, Deputy, Ordermentum, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Canva
