Key Responsibilities

- Review project plans and specifications ahead of each job to understand scope, layout requirements, and design intent before touching a surface

- Measure and mark wall and floor surfaces accurately, planning tile arrangement to suit the space and the design

- Prepare surfaces thoroughly, removing existing tiles, grout, and adhesive, and filling holes and cracks to achieve a clean, level base before any adhesive goes down

- Apply adhesive evenly across prepared surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques, and set tiles in position in line with the layout plan

- Cut and shape tiles to fit edges, corners, and around obstacles such as fittings and pipes, using tile-cutting tools to achieve a professional, seamless result

- Monitor alignment and spacing throughout installation, using spacers to maintain consistent gaps and checking your own work at every stage rather than waiting until the end

- Grout tiled surfaces using the correct product and colour for each project, applying evenly, removing excess cleanly, and finishing to a sharp, unblemished result

- Apply waterproofing systems in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, ensuring compliance with relevant standards

- Lay granolithic, terrazzo, cement, or similar composition floors where project specifications require it

- Create mosaic or patterned tile installations from coloured tiles where design specifications call for it

- Advise clients on tile selection, design options, and post-installation care, guiding decisions with practical knowledge rather than guesswork

- Deliver repair and maintenance services where required, protecting the longevity of completed installations

About You

- Trade-qualified with a Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent, or a minimum of three years demonstrated experience in a commercial or residential tiling environment

- Holds, or is eligible to obtain, any required registration or licensing

- Meticulous in your approach to surface preparation, alignment, grouting, and finishing — the details matter and you treat them that way

- Able to read and interpret technical plans and work to design specifications without needing to be supervised through every step

- Comfortable advising clients clearly and professionally on materials and maintenance

- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of sustained tiling work across varying site conditions

- Committed to safe work practices and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements on site

Salary - $79-90,000 + super
