Nepean is currently seeking qualified hands-on CNC Machinist /Toolmaker to join our dedicated team of professionals.

CNC MACHINIST - TOOLMAKER

The CNC Machinist/CAM Programmer will use CAM to create complex toolpaths to ensure parts are manufactured to the required specification. The CNC Machinist must also perform troubleshooting of the machines to ensure they are functioning optimally. CNC Machinists will be required to review and validate CAM programs and manufactured parts by CMM inspection.

Responsibilities

CAM Programming, creation of complex CAM strategies, set up and safe operation of CNC machines and other precision machining equipment

Mould/tool/ & equipment manufacturing, machining, finishing, assembly, & testing

Support the Projects teams to define performance specifications or functional requirements for new tooling projects

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on all assigned tasks, as and when required

Follow process and work instructions to ensure safe, repeatable & quality results

Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable processes

Qualifications and Skills

3 years CNC machining experience

Qualifications in CNC programming, Toolmaking, Machining, or Engineering

Minimum 3 years in a Toolmaking environment, with direct & relevant experience in CNC programming

Knowledge and ability to read and follow engineering drawings and diagrammed instructions

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Values precision and enforces quality standards

Able to work productively, largely unsupervised

Willing to operate new equipment

Knowledge and expertise with various steel and metals

Reliable, self-motivated with a great work ethic

A self-starter, with an ability to take direction

A strong team player

Salary: Between $79,499 and $82,000 per annum + Super
