Position Overview:

Civil Steel Co Pty Ltd provides structural steel erection services, delivering reliable solutions for commercial and civil construction projects.

As a Building Supervisor at Civil Steel Co Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day site operations, coordinating structural steel erection activities, labour, subcontractors, plant and materials, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. This position requires strong site leadership, planning, communication and attention to quality and safety.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Coordinate and schedule daily construction and structural steel erection activities, including work sequencing and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment to site.

• Supervise and direct site employees, rigging crews, subcontractors and other trades to ensure structural steel erection works are completed in accordance with project programs and site requirements.

• Interpret construction drawings, structural plans and specifications, and communicate work requirements clearly to site teams and subcontractors.

• Monitor structural steel erection activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, relevant building standards, quality requirements and project specifications.

• Implement and enforce workplace health and safety procedures, including site inductions, pre-starts, hazard controls and safe work practices for steel erection and lifting activities.

• Coordinate labour, cranes, access equipment, tools and steel deliveries, while liaising with project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve site issues.

• Conduct site inspections and quality checks on erected steelwork, connections, alignment and completed works, identifying defects or non-conformances and arranging corrective action.

• Maintain accurate daily site records and monitor progress against construction schedules, including labour, subcontractor activities, deliveries, incidents, variations, delays and sequencing risks.

Qualifications and Skills:

? Relevant qualification.

? Minimum 1 year experience as a Building Supervisor

? Strong knowledge of building and construction site supervision, preferably within structural steel erection, commercial or civil construction.

? Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, plans, specifications and construction documentation.

? Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe site practices.

? Effective leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Salary:

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 – $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
