Position Overview:

Palmo Freshwater Pty Ltd T/A Palmo Artisan Acai Freshwater - Palmo specializes in handcrafted acai bowls blended to order, together with smoothies, raw meals and other fresh, nourishing offerings. Its menu focuses on quality fresh and organic produce, with acai bowls prepared without added sugars or syrups.

As a Retail Manager at Palmo Freshwater Pty Ltd T/A Palmo Artisan Acai - Freshwater, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day retail operations of the Freshwater store, including team leadership, stock and supplier coordination, service standards, sales performance and operational compliance. This position requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and a hands-on approach to delivering consistent customer service in a fast-paced fresh-food retail environment.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Determine the product mix, ingredient and retail stock levels, and service standards for Palmo's Acai bowls, smoothies, raw meals, coffee and related offerings in response to customer demand and store performance.

• Develop and implement purchasing, pricing and local marketing approaches that support Palmo's brand standards, sales objectives and cost controls.

• Promote the Freshwater store's products and seasonal offerings through in-store initiatives and local promotional activity to support customer engagement and sales.

• Oversee the sale of products and customer service, including advising customers on menu options, responding to feedback and resolving service issues professionally.

• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, wastage, sales, point-of-sale activity, cash handling and other financial transactions.

• Prepare and monitor store budgets, labour costs, cost of goods, sales targets and operating expenses, and take action to improve efficiency and profitability.

• Select, train, roster, supervise and support retail team members, allocating duties and monitoring performance to maintain efficient service throughout trading hours.

• Ensure compliance with work health and safety requirements and maintain safe operating procedures for staff, customers, equipment and the retail environment.

• Coordinate daily opening and closing procedures, shift coverage, workflow and store presentation to keep the Freshwater location organised, clean and ready for service.

• Manage supplier coordination, ordering, receiving and rotation of fresh produce, Acai, ingredients, beverages and packaging to maintain quality, availability and minimise waste.

• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, storage, cleaning and customer service, while monitoring store KPIs and implementing practical improvements to day-to-day operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant qualification.

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Retail Manager

• Strong leadership, rostering, staff training and team management skills.

• Proven ability to manage stock, suppliers, purchasing and cost controls in a retail food environment.

• Sound financial literacy with the ability to monitor budgets, sales performance, labour costs and operational KPIs.

• Excellent customer service, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with a strong understanding of food safety and workplace procedures.

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $80,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
